The mission of Arts at the Armory is to provide an inclusive and accessible venue for arts, cultural and community events, exhibitions, markets, classes and more.
We are thrilled to announce that we will be hosting The Moth’s Spring Season in the Armory Performance Hall starting January 25, 2022. The Moth is an acclaimed non-profit organization based in NYC dedicated to the art and craft of storytelling. Arts at the Armory will be hosting The Moth’s monthly Boston StorySLAM, which is an open-mic storytelling competition, open to anyone with a five-minute story to share on the night’s theme. Effective January 15, 2022, ROOTED Armory Cafe and Farmstand will require proof of vaccination from all patrons who choose to sit in the Café. Those who get food or beverage to go will not be required to show proof of vaccination. The Center for Arts at the Armory requires all staff and event guests ages 12+ to show proof of vaccination status for admittance.* Guests who are MA residents are encouraged to download their vaccination QR code from https://myvaxrecords.mass.gov/ and show proof of vaccination from their cell phones. Negative test results will no longer be accepted in place of proof of vaccination. Children age 5+ must present proof of full vaccination (2 doses) by May 1, 2022. The Center for Arts at the Armory requires everyone (except for children under the age of 2) to wear a mask inside the Armory common spaces, Performance Hall and Cafe. It is recommended that all staff and guests use an N95 or K94 mask. We will continue to evaluate and update these policies as the situation evolves.
*Although vaccination is highly recommended for everyone attending the Somerville Winter Farmers Market, proof of vaccination will not be checked prior to entering the market.
As we head into the holiday season and speed toward the end of the year, we are thinking about you and the community we serve, and how our current moment has great importance as a time of rebirth and renewal. With our gradual return to in-person events in our Performance and Café beginning in May, we have used this time to reflect, and look inward and outward to understand how we can better serve our community, and create a sustainable organization in the process. We are rebuilding our team, rebooting our business plan, and improving our spaces. It’s a work in progress but there is a spirit and energy of possibility afoot that is driving our momentum. To realize the full potential of our rebirth, we are asking for your support of our year-end campaign with a goal to raise $20,000 by December 31st. Please click here to make a donation and thank you in advance for giving as generously as you can. Your contribution is essential to renewing the magical space for arts, culture and community that we all know and love.
With my sincere gratitude and warm wishes of the season,
