Arts at the Armory Blue Ribbon Recipient of the Month: Michelle Coimbra

We’re excited to share news of our first-ever Arts at the Armory Blue Ribbon Recipient of the Month: Michelle Coimbra. The Blue Ribbon recognizes a staff member, volunteer or intern who has demonstrated great dedication and outstanding performance at Arts at the Armory. 

Not only does Michelle do an excellent job of managing the Cafe M-Th daytime, she is a very gifted baker and makes all of our baked goods in house! We are so lucky to have Michelle on our team. Congratulations and thank you, Michelle!

What do you do at Arts at the Armory?
I’m the Assistant Manager at the Armory Cafe.

How long have you worked at Arts at the Armory?
About 7 or 8 years. 

What’s your favorite thing about working here? 
The freedom to be creative in the kitchen/menu.

What is something that makes you unique? 
I am not afraid to step out of the box and come up with desserts that no other cafe has. 

Save the Date of May 30th For Our 10 Year Anniversary Party & Fundraising Event!

We’re throwing a party and it will also be an important fundraising event for Arts at the Armory, which is the non-profit organization that makes it possible to host 750+ events per year in the Armory main hall, Cafe and the B5 classroom. We’re working on a very exciting lineup of performing artists and honorees for this event. Please stay tuned for more info and ticket info coming soon! 

Opening day at the somerville winter Farmers market december 7th 9:30am-2pm!

The Center for Arts at the Armory is excited to announce that we will be hosting and managing the 2019-2020 Somerville Winter Farmers Market (SWFM)! The market will run every Saturday until April 11th with the exception of December 28th when there will be no market. Not only will this be a local foodie paradise, there will be door prizes, live music, coloring activities for the kids, Christmas trees to pre-order from local farms and wreaths on sale by The Somerville Community Growing Center!
