Boys&GirlsClub Poster

How can we help our kids become healthy, productive, and responsible people?
The Somerville Boys & Girls Club at the Arthur D. Healey School provides education, prevention and recreation programs after-school for more than 100 Somerville youth ages 6 to 14 Monday through Friday. Membership dues for any child are no more than $30 per year in order to be accessible to our community’s most vulnerable children and families.

SCATV: Another reason why Somerville is awesome!

#GivingTuesday partner SCATV operates Channel 3 in Somerville. It is the oldest access center in Massachusetts (since 1983) and boasts the longest running access program in the world (since 1972), “Dead Air Live.” SCATV also operates an Internet radio station called Boston Free Radio, and serves the community through production of PSA’s, news programming, and coverage of community events, meetings, and political forums.

In addition to its programming, SCATV provides multiple platforms for other community-oriented groups! They offer free meeting space for community groups, post messages on their bulletin board, provide video training and mentoring, offer access to high quality digital equipment and facilities, and operate an art gallery for local artists.
