Voorhees × Vitale is Gus Voorhees (button accordion) and Michael Vitale (fiddle). They perform collaborative takes on traditional and contemporary folk dance music from England, France, and beyond. Gus and Michael have a long shared history of performing and playing for English folk dance in the US and UK, and the duo was born organically from outdoor get-togethers to play tunes for pleasure in the depths of the COVID-19 pandemic. They are delighted to finally be able to share their music with a live audience in this debut performance.
After many years of playing music together at various music camps and events Audrey Knuth and Alex Cumming join forces once again, this time thanks to the Christmas Revels. Both have a love of traditional dance music, and the combination of Audrey’s magical fiddle stylings and Alex’s rhythmic accordion and piano creates a whirlwind of exciting sounds sure to get you on your feet. December sees the two team up as guest artists for this year’s Christmas Revels in Cambridge, MA, bringing their love of English dance music to Sanders Theatre as well as a couple of rare duo concerts featuring an array of songs, tunes and festivities to warm the cockles of your heart as winter sets in.
