Feet Keep the Beat: Community Workshops & Dance Off

Join us for an afternoon of Feet Keep the Beat workshops to conclude with a final “Dance Off” / Jam.
Thirty minute workshops will be taught by Feet Keep the Beat Artists. Free to participate, donations welcome.

3:00 – 3:30: Flamenco (Yosi Karahashi)
3:30 – 4:00: Kathak (Ariaki Dandawate)
4:00 – 4:30pm: Tap (Ryan Casey)
4:30 – 5:00pm: Step (Lekisha Limage)
5:00 – 5:30pm: West African (Joh Camara)
5:30 – 6:00pm: Dance Off / Battle / Jam
The workshops will conclude with a “Dance Off” between artists and students “battling” with the variety of percussive dance forms represented in Feet Keep the Beat.
Please note that Somerstreets will be happening simultaneously with the Feet Keep the Beat Community Dance Workshop, and Highland Ave. will be closed between Central and Lowell Streets from 10am-8pm. It will not be possible to reach the Armory building in a vehicle. If driving it will be necessary to park in our overflow lot located at 75 Belmont Street (it is the lot with the parking attendant hut), which is a 5 minute walk to the Armory.
