Open Mic x Karaoke of Horror

Wed. Nov. 04, 2026 at 6:15 pm - 9:30 pm

Join Mic Drop for an open mic & karaoke of horror!

You can stay on theme with the horror or wander in whichever direction you choose, it is only a thought 🙂 This is a space to perform, experiment, try something new, and find your people! Whether it be poetry, singing, playing an instrument, doing stand-up, dancing, improv-ing with nothing prepared, karaoking, or whatnot — the stage is yours to make what you would like! Only one rule: have the funnest of funs. Come curious, come creative, and come cheer loud and proud!

Time / Schedule:

6:15 Doors

6:15-6:45 Chill + Eat/Drink + Chat
There is a cafe with plenty of great food and drink options to purchase, as well as time to meet new people and chill with your friends pre-show! There will also be a sign-up sheet upon entering for performers so you can list where in the set you would like to perform. Again, ANY act is welcome (singing, poetry, instrumentals, dancing, improv, stand up, doing a handstand, sea shantys, etc. etc. — we encourage you to be as whimsy as you would like and to experiment and try something new if this is your first time!)

6:45-9:30 Open Mic, Hootenanny, & Karaoke
We will kick off with our first performance at 7PM and each artist will have a max of 5 minutes of stage time to use as they wish (with the exception of setting the stage on fire or bringing a drumset). You do not have to use the full five minutes, but after the 5 minutes are over, we will [casually] nudge you off stage. This is to ensure that all individuals are given the opportunity to perform, no one gets too bored, and there is a variety of arts we all get to witness … You are also allowed to have a max of 3 people on the stage at once if you would like to perform something with your friends!

Things to Note: Please be mindful that there is no outside food or drinks welcome in the ROOTED Café. We also have to meet a minimum food/drink buy from the cafe so please take advantage of the incredible offerings 🍺🍸🍹🥂!!

Venue rules: no amp, no drum set, no outside food or drinks allowed. if bringing hand drum, let us know!

Venue equipment: mic and keyboard!

Celebrating 15 years of empowering bilingual women, advancing language access, and building a thriving interpreter workforce.

Join Found in Translation as we celebrate 15 years of empowering bilingual women, advancing language access, and building a thriving interpreter workforce. This special anniversary event will bring together alumnae, students, staff, funders, community partners, and supporters for an evening of cultural and linguistic celebration, inspiring stories, live entertainment, and community connection.

Together, we’ll honor the interpreters who make language access possible, celebrate the rich linguistic and cultural diversity of our community, and raise critical funds to support the next generation of language professionals. Guests will enjoy multicultural performances, interactive experiences, delicious food, and opportunities to learn how language access creates more equitable healthcare, education, and public services for all.

Come celebrate 15 years of voices heard, barriers broken, and lives transformed—and help us build a future where everyone can be understood.
