Exhibition Reception for Conversations We Had: An Exhibition of BFAC Member Artists
Sat. Jan. 25, 2025 at 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Join us for an Exhibition Reception for Conversations We Had: An Exhibition of BFAC Member Artists at ROOTED Armory Cafe. The exhibition runs from December 16, 2024 to January 27, 2025.
Drawing is a practice close to the bone. This means penetrating, hard-up, accurate to the point of causing discomfort. In the earliest man-made pictures, stone to stone, some markings were votive, created to honor a deity or express a desire like good health or a next meal. That is to say, when we mark make, our impulse has always been to give ourselves away. This show centers local artists who choose drawing as a shared, social practice. Gathering together, BFAC members translate forms from life while in community, drawing lines through conversations and across the page.
Participating artists:
Jen Lee, Bruce Wood, Svetlana Yuzheleveskaya, Marie-Anne Verougstraete, Rosie Bailey, Etienne Boulais, Scott Ruescher, Maria Rius Ruiz, Adam LoRusso, Monica Raymond, Mary Kahle, Damon Lehrer
