SCES Brown Bag Program

SCES Brown Bag Program

First Tuesday of every month.  Somerville-Cambridge Elder services (SCES) along with the Greater Boston Food Bank, provide older people and younger people with disabilities living in senior housing free groceries. Volunteers will be helping provide these services.

Volunteers: Volunteer help is most needed 8 am – 10:30 am.

Clients: Participation in the program is free, but you must register in advance.  Contact Somerville-Cambridge Elder Services directly to enroll.

Feet Keep the Beat Class: Fourth Dimension Tap Company – Shim Sham

The Center for Arts at the Armory (CAA) heats up the stage this summer with “Feet Keep the Beat”–a new annual multicultural percussive dance festival that CAA is both producing and presenting.

Class 4: Fourth Dimension Tap Company – Shim Sham

  • 5:00PM-6:00PM in the Armory Café
  • All levels
  • Ages 12 and up

Register for a Feet Keep The Beat Class Pass to enjoy this class and many other offerings!

This will be the Boston area’s first ever festival of this type, and will include four days of classes and jams, culminating with the exciting Showcase Performance on August 4th.

Classes will be taught by the performing artists and companies participating in the August 4th Showcase, as well as Ian Berg (Tap & Musicality) and Anastasia Yendiki (Flamenco). There will be two free jams in the Armory Café–a  Flamenco Tablao on August 1st and an Irish Jam on August 2nd.
