“The String Band Reimagined,” featuring Appalachian, Venezuelan & Brazilian Roots and Second Album Release Concert

Celebrate the release of Acoustic Nomads’ second album–The Abominable String Band Vol. 2–and tune your ears to this band of artists who are making a name for themselves in the acoustic music scene in Boston and beyond. The five-piece string band crafts intricate, striking compositions where each instrument has its own story to tell. The band includes Noah Harrington (bass), Maurizio Fiore Salas (cuatro & guitar), Ethan Setiawan (mandolin), and Sofia Chiarandini (violin).

Acoustic Nomads formed through chance meetings and the urgency to innovate and meld traditional music (Argentinian, Bluegrass, Brazilian, Venezuelan) with contemporary jazz. The musicians’ frenetic creativity and a grant awarded through the historic Club Passim’s Iguana Music Fund allowed them to record a debut full-length album. The Abominable String Band Vol. 1 was released in Fall 2021.

Doors open at 7:00PM; the show starts at 7:30PM.

The opener will be Sirika Duo!
