Winter Parkour (Kids Indoor 8-13)

This class is for children of all ability and fitness levels, and will include instruction in the basic movements and techniques of parkour, as well as exercises designed to improve general fitness and ensure the long-term practice of parkour. Classes will focus on exploring and moving within one’s environment and will include a number of games, exercises, and drills to improve balance, coordination, strength, spatial awareness, and flexibility while having fun. All classes are taught by ADAPT certified coaches.

Winter Parkour (Low Impact/50+ Indoor)

A class designed for practitioners with “more life experience” (age 40/50+) that are interested in getting the fitness and agility benefits of parkour training without some of the higher-impact movements of our regular classes. These classes are designed for participants with a wide range of physical and fitness backgrounds- from the first time off the couch in years, to the seasoned weekend triathlete. All classes are taught by ADAPT certified coaches and include a combination of instruction in the movements and techniques of parkour, conditioning and strengthening exercises aimed at general fitness and the long-term practice of parkour, and a combination of exercises, routes and drills with the aim of providing a great (and fun) workout for any fitness level.

ALEX STURBAUM is a traditional musician based in Olympia, WA. Alex is a singer, songwriter, dance musician, and multi-instrumentalist, and performs across the country at festivals, contra dance weekends, and more. A versatile and engaging performer steeped in folk music from both sides of the Atlantic, they draw influences from Celtic, American, English, Canadian, and martime music to create something at once old and new. Alex’s performances are known for high energy and an instant rapport with audiences.
CEDAR STANISTREET grew up playing both classical violin and traditional fiddle music, and studied violin performance at the Crane School of Music. For the past ten years he has played for contra dances across North America with bands including Nor’easter, Cardinal Direction, Maivish, and Cloud Ten. His spirited, rhythmic playing and clear tone keep dancers on their feet. In between gigs, Cedar can be found at home in Brattleboro, Vermont, growing vegetables, baking bread, and birdwatching. He also repairs violins, violas, and cellos.
ALEX CUMMING is a traditional Singer, Accordionist, Pianist and dance caller hailing from Somerset, England, now living in Greater Boston, MA, USA. He performs songs and tunes from around the United Kingdom and America with a great depth of knowledge of the tradition. Alex has made his mark on the folk scene with his rhythmic dance-able accordion style, strong voice and his fun and engaging stage presence.
