A gathering of friends of “May I Have a Word”
Sun. Apr. 12, 2026 at 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm
Calling all lovers of wordplay: Join us for a talk by Barbara Wallraff, who writes
The Boston Globe’s Sunday Ideas column “May I Have a Word.” She will discuss the origin of this interactive column and share anecdotes from her long career as the author of books, magazine articles, and newspaper pieces and as a copy editor for The Boston Phoenix, The Atlantic, MIT Technology Review, and the Globe.
Admission is free, but we need you tell us in advance if you plan to attend.
Space in the café is strictly limited and we don’t want to have to turn anyone
away at the door. Email barbara.wallraff@globe.com with “Armory” in the subject line and we’ll sign you up if we haven’t yet reached capacity.
