Pantalone and Dottore Gratiano have a bet on who will marry a beautiful woman first. They both have an eye on Isabella, but she only has eyes for Oratio. He’s planning to propose tonight, but meanwhile, the bet keeps getting bigger… what could possibly go wrong? Come find out as i Sebastiani, the Greatest Commedia dell’Arte Troupe in the Entire World, proudly presents “The Sure Bet”!
This performance will take place in the Café at the Armory in Somerville, MA. Please don’t let finances keep you away; this is a “pay what you can” production. Suggested donation: $10 adults, $5 students/seniors.
i Sebastiani strives to present traditional Commedia as it would have been seen in 16th-century Italy (but in English!). All of our plays are improvised from plot outlines, called scenarios; this particular scenario is original, being performed this weekend for International Commedia dell’Arte Day (Feb 25). We want to use this seminal comedy form to make you laugh! A short Q&A period will follow the show. We hope to see you there!
