This will be the Boston area’s first ever festival of this type, and we invite you to join us August 1 – 4, 2023 in celebrating these thriving communities during this four-day festival of classes, jams and an exciting Showcase Performance on August 4th. Please check the ticket link for more information about classes and jams. See you at Feet Keep the Beat!

The Feet Keep the Beat Festival was intentionally planned to coincide with the Boston Tap Party Festival produced by Deborah Mason as a convergence of both local and visiting tap and percussive dance artists, teachers and students, providing opportunities to diverse Greater Boston dance communities and audiences and beyond. The Deborah Mason Performing Arts Center will be conducting the Boston Tap Party in Somerville, MA from August 3 – 6, 2023, including a Boston Tap Party Faculty Showcase Performance on August 5th 7pm at Arts at the Armory. Click here to learn more.

The Center Arts at the Armory is proud to present the acclaimed Sweet Honey in the Rock on March 25th at the historic and intimate Armory Performance Hall as part of our signature Spotlight Series. Doors are 7pm and the performance begins at 8pm.

Sweet Honey in the Rock’s potent and rich sound has garnered them a worldwide following. As they approach their 50 year anniversary, the Grammy Award® nominated ensemble has released their 24th recording, #LoveInEvolution, their latest in a celebrated legacy of elevated harmonies and arts-based activism that spans five decades. Four founding members of Sweet Honey in the Rock are part of the current tour coming to Somerville: Nitanju Bolade Casel, Aisha Kahlil, Carol Maillard, and Louise Robinson.

The Boston Children’s Chorus will be opening for Sweet Honey in the Rock. Also at the event will be a global comfort food pop-up by Comfort Kitchen, voted Boston’s best pop-up and one of the area’s hottest new restaurants, with new brick and mortar digs in Dorchester.

Sweet Honey in the Rock has strong ties to the Deaf community and ensures all their live performances include a sign language interpreter. Helping to make it all possible, the ACLU of Massachusetts is proud to partner with Arts at the Armory to sponsor Sweet Honey in the Rock.
