SOMERVILLE SKILLSHARE:MONTHLY WORKSHOP SERIES

What is Skillshare?                                                                                      Somerville Skillshare is a free monthly learning event that features classes around any innovative topic and we encourage locals to teach it. It’s a way to learn new skills, jump-start new hobbies, and meet other people with similar interests, all in a fun and informal setting.

About Skillshare
On March 2nd, 2014, nearly 800 people attended the first annual Somerville Skillshare that featured classes taught by nearly 40 local teachers. Ever since, we  have turned this event into a monthly series so that we can continue to showcase the unique talents of local residents.

Skillshares  of the Month!

Skillshare: Urban Herbal Gardening- Planning for Medicinal Herbs in the Garden

About the skillshare: March might be blustery for garden planting but it is prime time for garden planning! If you are a seasoned gardener, seed catalogs have arrived on your stoop and you are starting to obsess over them.

Date & Time: This session will take place on Wednesday March 29th at 7 pm, in the cafe

About the facilitator:  Heather has been teaching herbal classes for over a decade. She has recently moved from Vermont where she grew and gathered her medicinal plants for her herbal extract business, Giving Tree Botanicals. She also appreciates small and container gardening. Last year she began gardening in the Fenway Victory Garden with her partner. She worked for several years at Vermont’s largest garden center in the nursery and enjoys sharing knowledge of medicinal plants.

Contribution: Any donation helps
