Somerville residents receive assistance in the areas of HIV/AIDS/STI prevention and management; domestic violence and sexual assault services, including batterer intervention; immigrant integration services, including citizenship assistance and much more; family support, including family stabilization and in-home therapy; elder services; language classes…the list goes on!
A $50 to $100 donation goes far: it could cover the cost of a month of lunches for an isolated, low-income senior citizen, or help protect a woman and her children from domestic abuse, or help an immigrant attain citizenship. Please support this week’s #GivingTuesdaySomerville feature organization MAPS today.
How can a donation to #GivingTuesdaySomerville help? $50 will cover a scholarship for an adult student to study ESOL for 1 14-week semester. $100 will cover a scholarship for an adult student to study ESOL for a full academic year (28 weeks), and $250 would provide 40 hours of professional medical interpreter training for 1 bilingual high school student.
