Class Description: Enjoy a design opportunity in miniature! Create a puppet that expresses a style you’d like to try, be it Edwardian, Steampunk, techno. . . or something completely different. We’ll style our puppets’ Styrofoam heads with yarn and beads and make clothing that brings the look together. The class will move at a relaxed pace, with time to work on details. All puppets will be encouraged to strut down Puppet Runway at the end of the second session.
About the Instructor: After studying traditional puppetry in Taiwan for three years, Margaret Moody began incorporating the acrobatic movements of the Taiwanese style into her own hand puppet shows, which feature the Monkey King, fairies and trolls. Currently she works as a solo puppeteer in schools, community centers and libraries and with Galapagos Puppets for museum and school audiences.
