This course will introduce students to the mechanics of their cameras and various photographic techniques. Students will learn the basics of composition, framing, depth of field and perspective. We’ll discuss how to use light to create moods, communicate ideas, and share experiences. Using pictures we’ve taken in class as well as samples from the teacher, we’ll have discussion-based critiques as well as taking photos during the class. The class will cover any type of photography the students are interested in, including nature photography, portraiture, abstract and night photography.
