Class Description: The goal of the two and a half hour session will be for each student to create an individual board (around 4 x4 feet/painted white) with four to five separate, smaller, themed projects assembled on it. Examples of themes are softness, spiky, geometric, shiny, and color burst. For one of the themes, the participants will offer ideas, and we will take a vote to select one. They could use foam board for the base of each project and glue multiple layers of foam board together if they want to give more depth to a piece. Participants could glue pieces of wood to the base layer to add a sculptural element. They could also manipulate the base layer of each piece by wrapping fabric, canvas, or tin foil around it, or paint it. Participants would have a range of materials to choose from for each project, individually planning and selecting what to use based on their individual interpretation of the theme.
