About the Artists:

Soprano Stephanie Lamprea is an active performer, recitalist and curator in the United States, specializing in 20th and 21st century classical repertoire. Her solo performances have been described as “electrifying”, and her work in curation was recently awarded a grant from the prestigious Puffin Foundation.

Stephanie devours mammoth works of virtuosity and extended technique with ease and creative insight. In 2018 she performed the entirety of Georges Aperghis’ Recitations in New York and in Boston. Other works of note she has performed include Schoenberg’s Pierrot Lunaire, Luciano Berio’s Folk Songs, and Shostakovich’s Seven Verses of Alexander Blok. She has performed as a solo and chamber musician at National Sawdust, Spectrum, the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, Miller Theater at Columbia University, Symphony Space, the Terrace Theater at Kennedy Center, the Slipper Room, and Park Avenue Armory.

Her interest in contemporary performance has led her to sing new works by composers such as Anton Webern, Olivier Messiaen, Kaija Saariaho, David Lang, George Crumb, Jason Eckardt and Reiko Fueting. In 2017, Stephanie founded unbridled, a new music ensemble dedicated to the cultivation of new art through commissioning, collaborating, and improvising. unbridled has performed works of David Lang, Ashkan Behzadi, Meredith Monk, and Icli Zitella, and this year has commissioned a new work by Emily Praetorius in a concert also featuring works by Morton Feldman and Kaija Saariaho, interposed with improvisatory reactions.

Violinist Kyra Davies is an active chamber and orchestral musician with a focus on performing the music of today. Kyra is the second violinist of the Semiosis Quartet and regularly performs and records with the Boston Modern Orchestra Project. Previously, Kyra was a member of mixed quartet Hub New Music, the Britten-Pears Contemporary Ensemble in Aldeburgh, UK, and the Brevard Music Center’s new music ensemble, itch; she also appeared as a guest with the New England Conservatory Contemporary Ensemble.

Kyra performs regularly as an orchestral violinist with the Portland Symphony Orchestra (Maine), Albany Symphony Orchestra, Chattanooga Symphony Orchestra, South Florida Symphony Orchestra, New Hampshire Music Festival, Monadnock Music Festival, Symphony New Hampshire, and the New Bedford Symphony Orchestra. She has toured with Il Volo and Josh Groban, and has worked with a wide range of performers including Chick Corea, Renee Fleming, Itzhak Perlman, and Steven Tyler.

Kyra received her Bachelor of Music degree at age 20 from Rice University, where she studied under Kenneth Goldsmith. She received additional training at the National Orchestral Institute, National Repertory Orchestra (where she appeared as a soloist in a program of American fiddle tunes), Music Academy International (Siena, Italy) and the Castleton Festival Orchestra.
