About the series: In this series, you will learn how to make monotype and relief prints without using a printing press. First, students will experiment with three different types of monotypes. Then, students will go on to handprint relief prints and will have the chance to explore both linocut and woodcut prints. At the end of the course, students will learn methods of bookbinding and compile their prints from throughout the course into artists’ books or use their prints to make covers and endpapers for sketchbooks.
This series includes the following classes:
Time and Date: This is ten week series on Wednesdays September 1 through (Skipping November 23) November 30, from 6:30 to 9:00pm in the B5 classroom in the basement.
Price: The cost of each class in the series is $16.
About Chloe Wilwerding
Chloe Wilwerding teaches printmaking and photography at Commonwealth School. Chloe earned her B.A. from Middlebury College with a double major in studio art and political science. She has also taken courses at Rhode Island School of Design, Massachusetts College of Art and Design, and New England School of Photography. She studied art’s role in social change at World Learning’s School for International Training in Prague and assisted master printmakers with nontoxic printmaking workshops as an intern at Zea Mays Printmaking.
