Date(s) - Fri. Mar. 24, 2017
7:30 pm - 9:30 pm
Scott Allen Jarrett, conductor
Jacquelyn Stucker, soprano
Yoni Kahn, horn
This rollicking program features a little of everything, including Beethoven’s Symphony No. 1, wild romantic horn antics featuring Grand Harmonie co-founder and principal horn Yoni Kahn, a pirate-themed overture performed by the Grand Harmonie wind band, and Jacquelyn Stucker singing a most impassioned and dramatic concert aria.
We are pleased to offer two different concert formats for this program. The first performance will feature an in-the-round atmosphere, with pre-concert reception and time to explore the music from the inside out. It’s more of a party than a concert. The second performance at The Second Church in Newton will be a more traditional concert atmosphere, although Grand Harmonie has never been known for doing anything “normal”…
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Overture to “The Abduction from the Seraglio”
Ludwig van Beethoven: Concert aria “Ah! Perfido” Op. 65
Carl Maria von Weber: Concertino in E Op. 45
Beethoven: Symphony No. 1 Op. 21
