About the Class: Do you like to sketch and draw but have trouble creating finished work? Starting with the human face and figure as inspiration we’ll cover the basics of composition, lighting, anatomy, and watercolor techniques. Our emphasis will be on drawing, using colored pencil over watercolor textures as a way to painlessly develop rich, colorful imagery. You’ll expand your visual vocabulary as you conceptualize, compose, and create your own individual pieces. We will work from photos, anatomy reference, plaster casts and other objects, or from imagination to explore human anatomy and other subjects of your choosing. All approaches are welcome: abstract, stylized, surreal, realistic, conceptual, etc.
Date and Time: This is a five-week class on Fridays from June 23 (skipping July 14) to July 28, from 7pm to 9:30 pm.
About Darrell: Darrell Myers holds a BFA in Illustration, is a freelance illustrator and software UI designer, he is also a photoshop tutor.
