We will discuss rhyme, pattern, and beat through active listening to stressed and unstressed syllables within the lyrics. The words will be read aloud by the students, who will also be able to utilize percussive instruments to follow the rhythmic patterns. There will be discussion of how all of these items contribute to understanding the lyrics.
