Happy October, Boston creatives! We’ve got a great Halloween short and the sometimes-scary behind the scenes tale behind it!

In February of 2017, Alex Salsberg (who you’ve probably seen hosting many of our events) and his writing partner Joe Andrade decided to make a 14 minute comedy with almost no money and no time, with the goal of premiering it THAT October. What followed was a journey that had so many amazing moments, like casting “Dr.” Katz and assembling a crew of talented Boston animators. But there were also some dark moments, like sorting out misunderstandings with the Screen Actor’s Guild and losing all the lipsync 12 hours before the premiere.

Alex is going to tell us about all of it and give a completely honest look into what happens when you stop saying “I should make a film” and make one. Anyone who plans to make a film, from college students to people who have been putting it off for years, should check out this talk!

Plus, you’ll get to watch the film and it’s funny.

Event begins at 7pm, talk starts at 7:30pm

Open to all, with a suggested donation of $5. There’s a free parking lot located behind The Armory. This event will be held in the cafe, where beer, wine and a full menu of sandwiches, salads and snacks are available.
