Getting Here

The Center for Arts at the Armory is conveniently located at 191 Highland Avenue between Davis Square and Union Square in Somerville, Massachusetts. The award-winning Arts at the Armory Café can be found on the left-hand side as you enter the first floor.  A free 44-space parking lot is located behind the Armory.  An additional overflow parking lot is available.  Please see below for its location.

The Armory is located in a busy residential neighborhood; visitors are encouraged to carpool, take public transportation, bike, or walk. There are bicycle racks behind and in front of the building. Please do not lock bikes on the Armory railing.

Arts at the Armory is approximately a 15 minute walk from Davis Square on the MBTA Red Line. The MBTA buses, Route 88 and Route 90, can be taken from Lechmere (Green Line) or Davis Square (Red Line) to reduce walking distance to Arts at the Armory. Visitors can exit the bus at the Highland Ave @ Lowell Street stop.

Visitors can also reach Arts at the Armory from Sullivan Square (Orange Line) with the MBTA Route 90 bus. Visitors can exit the bus at the Highland Ave @ Benton Road stop.

Turn by turn directions are available by clicking on the map below.

There is an overflow lot available for events once the main lot reaches capacity. Please do not use the St. Catherine’s lot. The lot at 75 Belmont is the first lot on the right coming up Belmont and has a guard shack.

75 Belmont St, Somerville, MA 02143

This lot is available Mon-Fri after 6 pm, and Sat-Sun all day.  Overflow parking is free.

If you are traveling from out of town, there are many hotels in the area. We recommend the Cambria Hotel Boston Somerville, which is just a half-mile from Arts at the Armory. We look forward to seeing you!

Public Transportation Update:

The MBTA’s Green Line Extension was completed in December 2022; the northern end of the Green Line is now extended to College Avenue in Medford.

The new Magoun Square stop on the Green Line is a quick 10 minute walk from Arts at the Armory for patrons and visitors.
